For one thing there is the thin veil of truth in the references to Scripture. There is also the millions of people tuning in who apparently go along with it–what I will call the pressure of the crowd. One can only speculate about Oprah’s star appeal.

But the real truth is that many Christians don’t know their Bibles and fall too easily for the “latest thing,” religious or secular.

Back in the early centuries of this world’s history, Irenaeus ran into the same thing–in his day Gnosticism–and dealt with it by showing that it could not be proven from Scripture, nor was it handed down from John and Polycarp. “New Earth” can’t be substantiated in Scripture, nor was it handed down from Jesus through his disciples.

Irenaeus also suggested Gnosticism was absurd. “New Earth” is a lot more polished than what Irenaeus dealt with in his day–I don’t think we would fall for the absurd scenarios conjured up back then–but regardless of the packaging it is still conterfeit.

“New Earth” should be a strong reminder that we need to be prayerfully considering what we believe to make sure that we are not being misled.

I fear for our Nation and that leads me to pray fervently for a National Awakening and Revival. America is not almighty, God is Almighty. Many nations have risen and fallen, study history. America is not immune from destruction. All around the world many nations and peoples hate us and would love to see us removed as a force in the earth. We are all familiar with 2 Chronicles 7:14, and I like to say it this way “If Our Nation is not healed and forgiven, if God does not here our prayers, it is for one reason and one reason only! It is because We the people of God, called by His name, did not humble ourselves, pray, seek his face and turn from OUR wicked ways!”

What is it going to take for American Christians to wake up?
Will it take a nuclear explosion in one or more of our major cities? Will it take a second great depression? These things are all possible, regardless of wheter you believe it or not!

Our economy is in one of the most dangerous positions it has been in since the great depression. Our US Dollar is losing value every day in the world markets. The Federal Reserve is not Almighty either! In fact, do a little research and you will find out that the Great Depression was CAUSED by the Federal Reserve. Ben Bernanke has publicly confessed this!

On a local level, I live in Baton Rouge, LA. My wife teaches kindergarten in an inner city school. She has 26 children, 3 of those children have a parent that has been murdered or killed and about 6 of her children have a parent in jail. The Spiritual Condition of America is horrible. Oprah is not a Christian, she is a cult leader! God have mercy on us!
