Easy Granola
Back to Recipes

This granola is easy to make and delicious. To make it even healthier and cut down on the carbs, shred up an apple and add it to the granola at the time of serving it.

12 C of quick oats
1 cup of raw sunflower seeds
1 tsp of salt
3 C Non-blanched almonds that are sliced.

1 C of honey*
2-3 TBS Vanilla
2 TBS maple flavoring

1. Mix the dry ingredients.

2. Combine the wet ingredients.

3. Bake slowly in the oven, turning the granola as needed during baking process. Baking may go for as long as 3 to 4 hours.

Bake at 225 and keep turning it until it is dry.

Use cookie sheet that hasn’t been oiled.

Quick oats have the same nutritional value as old fashion oats, they are just cut differently.

Turn granola at least after 30 minutes.

It is best to heat  up the honey and mix the ingredients with it prior to adding the honey to the dry ingredients.

I learned to shred up apples in granola while visiting Rex and Joyce in New Zealand. Thank you!
